How To Use

Any parts of the body that will be exposed to the sun should be covered generously 15 minutes before exposure. Re-apply after 80 minutes of swimming, sweating, immediately after towel-drying, and every 2 hours. Keep BodyShield 50 out of excessive heat and direct sun, and ask your doctor about the best sun protection for children under 6 months of age.

"What Iike most about this sunscreen is that it never gets in your eyes. I have had problems with most other sunscreens getting in my eyes, but never this one, even when I sweat or when it rains, and even after using and reapplying it every couple hours or so every day for months. Multiple people have pointed out how white I look when using too much of this sunscreen. As you can tell with the attached picture, it's not too bad if you use a small to moderate amount of it, but it makes you look a little shiny. This sunscreen works to prevent sunburns; I work outside all day every day in full sun and this keeps me protected. I like the ethics of the company and using a cruelty-free, reef-safe, organic, eco-friendly sunscreen."

No white cast!

"My family loves this sunscreen. We brought this in a family trip to Mexico. Even my kids (7,9) love it, and they *hate* most sunscreens. No sunburns for us, it's reef safe, and it's pleasant to apply. I'm picky about scents and quite enjoy this subtle essential oils scent of this sunscreen. I'm thrilled with how easy this is to rub in. Really a game changer. It's pricier than blue lizard (by a lot!!!), but so so so much easier to apply."

"I love that the money going towards it helps rebuild farms in Costa Rica and that it’s made of recycled plastic and natural ingredients but the sunscreen has a very strong citrus smell that I did not care for. I stopped using this sunscreen because the citrus smell was really irritating me. I like the sustainable goals of the brand and I hope that maybe a fragrance free sunscreen could be created."

Not at all! The reason we developed this product is because so many safe, natural sunscreens didn’t had a pleasant skin feel and leave a white residue. We worked for over 4 years to develop this innovative & healthy formula so that it protects you from the sun but doesn’t leave you feeling sticky, greasy, or with a white residue.

Yes, we use Zinc Oxide in our sun protection products and we do the corresponding FDA tests to make sure we are protecting you from both UVA and UVB rays.

In our sun protection products, we use Zinc Oxide as the active ingredient. Zinc oxide is an excellent mineral physical barrier to sun damage and is approved by the FDA as safe, as compared to many synthetic ingredients that can have harmful side effects for your health & the environment.

Absolutely not! ;). Thrive’s Daily Defense Sunscreen Balm is a MINERAL sunscreen. None of those chemicals. The active ingredient in our formula is a premium zinc oxide at 20%. Giving you a healthy 30 SPF daily moisturizer. The FDA has recently stated that the ingredients you mentioned are known or suspected to be unhealthy. Nearly 2/3 of sunscreens sold today use them. We worked for two years to make a great Sunscreen that left all that bad stuff out. But would avoid typical zinc whiteface, and be fine for everyday use. We hope you love it as much as we do. Enjoy!

Yes, it helps protect skin from tanning; but have in mind there’s no product that will block 100% of sun radiation, so you may still get some slight coloration according to sun exposure.

Important to be sure it’s being used correctly:

*Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.

*Re-apply every 2 hours when outdoors.

*Be sure to layer well, to properly cover your face.

*Use a water resistant product if swimming or sweating.
